An experienced
Speaker, Bill Farnsworth will come to your school to talk about how he
illustrates books with original art, tearsheets, and slide show. He will
take the audience through the step by step process of research, sketches,
photographing models, and painting the final piece. Art students on
the College level will benefit a great deal from Farnsworth's years as an
Illustration Instructor. Students at the Elementary School level will be
given a show tailored just to them from 2-5 grades. They may recognize some
of the paintings from the many Children's Books he has illustrated. Most of
these titles have a great deal of educational value.
The shows start with a short talk about the illustrators background, then a twenty to thirty minute slide show, followed by a fifteen minute question/answer session. Total time is about 45 to 60 minutes for each show. He will need a slide projector, easels and microphone.
